After less than two years on the job, Georgia Southern President Dr. Jaimie Hebert is exploring opportunities at other universities.
Dr. Hebert is visiting the University of Houston-Clear Lake Thursday as a finalist for the position of Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost.
According to the school's website, Dr. Hebert is up against one other finalist, and he has an on-campus interview on Thursday.
We've also learned from a newspaper in Louisiana that Dr. Hebert is a provost candidate at the University of Lousiana-Lafayette, which is his Alma Mater.
Hebert became the 13th president of Georgia Southern University on July 1, 2016.
With the consolidation of Armstrong State University and Georgia Southern University in December 2017, WTOC will be reaching out to Georgia Southern and the University Board of Regents to find out more about their plans moving forward.
